Jakarta, April 12, 2006, PT Antam, Tbk is pleased to lodge the March exploration report in accordance with the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) listing rules. Exploration activities focused primarily on nickel, gold and bauxite. Total exploration cost on March reached Rp 5.8 billion, 45% higher than Rp 4 billion spent on February 2006.

NICKEL EXPLORATION
Antam conducted nickel exploration in Buli Halmahera; Southeast Sulawesi and Obi Island.

Nickel exploration using drilling method in Buli, Halmahera specifically Pakal block and Sangaji continued and reached 10,761.96 m. Activities included core description, core samples and also collected 5,923 preparation samples. Total cost reached Rp2.5 billion.

Antam also conducted nickel exploration in Southeast Sulawesi at Tapunopaka using drilling method and successfully reached 2,711.6 m followed with core description, core samples and sample preparations. Other activities included mine design preparation for Tapunopaka and 12.5 m spacing of drilling method for modelling at Tapunopaka and Mandiodo that reached 1,083.50 m. Total cost reached Rp 1.4 billion.

Nickel exploration conducted at Obi Island specifically at Kawasi block including drilling activities using 25 m and 50 m spacing that reached 2,361.92 m at a total cost of Rp 795 million.

As indicated on February 2006, Antam continued to process 11 new nickel-mining licences (KP) application in areas as followed: Halmahera, Southeast Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi.

Total cost for nickel exploration reached Rp 4.7 billion.

GOLD EXPLORATION
Antam conducted gold. exploration at Pongkor, West Java; Seblat, Bengkulu and Buladu, Gorontalo.

Exploration activities at Pongkor included 31.15 m of geological-technical drilling followed by permeability test, Piezometer set up. geomechanical analysis and geohidrological analysis at a total cost of Rp 74.8 million..

Exploration drilling at Ps. Jawa and Kubang Cicau vein below L.500 resulted 3 drilling spots totalled 603.75 m. Drilling no.1 (KCB-4) went through vein at 450 m above sea level elevation, 7 m wide with average grade of 4.14 gpt Au/55.94 gpt Ag. The highest grade reached 14.58 gpt Au. Drilling no.2 KCB-4A) went through vein at 400 m above sea level elevation and below 1 m wide. Antam is still processing the result. Antam stopped drilling no.3 (PJB-3) at 275 m depth, as it did not reached the expected vein. Total cost reached Rp 517.2 million.

Exploration activities at Seblat, Bengkulu conducted particularly at Lebong Kandis and Gunung Husein vein to collect more data for supporting planned drilling activity. Detailed activities included Regional Geological Mapping of 263.65 ha, opening of 395.6 m3, 274 rock samples, 120 soil samples and structure analysis for 16 man-days. Total cost reached Rp 225.l million.

Exploration at Gorontalo focused in Bolontio and Kasia area included Semi Detailed Geological Mapping of 2,200 ha, Detailed Geological Mapping of 105 ha, opening of 150 m3, collecting rock samples for chemical analysis, X-Ray Diffraction, petrography/ mineragraphy with a total of 118 samples. From activities with total cost reached Rp 23.9 million, 4 vein zones discovered near Bahunta River with updated details as followed:

General Direction: N 260? E ? N 290? E
Vein 1: 100 m length, to the east
Vein 2: 250 m length, followed with exposure at Bahunta river arm.
Vein 3: Further exploration required
Vein 4: Further exploration required

Exploration at this area indicated that mineralization closed, to Au - Cu porphyry model. Antam postponed activities and conducted further evaluation as the location neared protected forest.

Gold exploration at Cikotok, Banten continued in cooperation with a third party. It completed 2 drilling pits of 600 m at Cisadan prospect. All costs were borne by the third party.

Total cost for gold exploration reached Rp 841 million.

BAUXITE EXPLORATION
Bauxite exploration activities still focused at Tayan and Munggu Pasir. Both areas are at West Kalimantan.

Test pitting volume using 25 m spacing at Tayan reached 86 pits (568.7 m) followed by collecting 230 channel samples. Total cost reached Rp163.6 million.

At Munggu Pasir prospect, Antam continued to prepare exploration activities including 50 m spacing test-pitting grid reached 185 pits (723.9 m). Total cost reached Rp l16.8 million.

Total cost for bauxite exploration reached Rp 280.4 million. (end of release)
