Release: Antam monthly exploration report for May 2009

Antam?s exploration activities focused on nickel, gold, bauxite and coal. Total exploration cost on above commodities on May 2009 amounted to Rp5.8 billion (preliminary figures).
NICKEL
Antam conducted nickel exploration at North Maluku and South-east Sulawesi.
Antam conducted exploration activities at Buli-North Maluku included drilling, logging core, grid measurement and topography while at Tapunopaka and Mandiodo-Southeast Sulawesi Antam focused on track measurement, drilling spots, topography measurement, logging core and drilling.
Total nickel exploration cost reached Rp2 billion.
GOLD
Antam conducted gold exploration at Central Aceh-NAD, North Tapanuli-North Sumatera, Batangasai-Jambi, Pongkor and Papandayan-West Java, Ajibarang and Tirtomoyo-Central Java, Wowoni and Ranteangin-Southeast Sulawesi and Mao Batuisi-West Sulawesi.
Exploration activities at Central Aceh-NAD included geochemical sample analysis. Antam also conducted exploration at North Tapanuli-North Sumatera included Semi Detailed Geological Mapping (SDGM) and collected samples of rocks, Fi and petrol mineragraphy. At Batangasai-Jambi, Antam performed Detailed Geological Mapping (DGM), SDGM, hand auger, opening, samples of soil, rocks, petro/mineragraphy, XRD and Fi, conducted logging core, outcrop description, structure description, magnetic geophysics and track measurement.
Exploration activities at Java Island were conducted at several areas. At Pongkor-West Java, Antam performed logging core, samples of core, rock, XRD and petro/mineragraphy, drilling, track measurement and magnetic geophysics measurement. At Papandayan-West Java, Antam conducted DGM, opening, samples of rocks, XRD and petrography/ mineragraphy, track measurement and magnetic geophysics measurement. Antam also conducted DGM, SDGM, samples of rock, Fi, XRD, petrography and chemical analysis at Ajibarang-Central Java while at Tirtomoyo-Central Java, Antam conducted DGM, track measurement, magnetic geophysics and IP geophysics.
At Wowoni of Southeast Sulawesi, Antam conducted DGM, SDGM, samples of rocks, Fi, XRD and mineragraphy, conducted track measurement, outcrop description and IP geophysics. Antam conducted SDGM, DGM, samples of rock, Fi, petrography and XRD, opening, track measurement and IP geophysics at Mao Batuisi-West Sulawesi Antam.
Total gold exploration cost reached Rp2.7 billion.
BAUXITE
Antam conducted bauxite exploration at Mempawah, Tayan and Munggu Pasir of West Kalimantan. Exploration activities at Mempawah included 50 m grid, topography measurement, test pitting, total depth measurement and samples. Antam conducted grid measurement, topography, test pitting, total depth measurement and samples at Tayan and Munggu Pasir.
Total bauxite exploration cost reached Rp1.1 billion.
COAL
Antam conducted coal exploration at Mura Tebo of Jambi included Regional Geological Mapping (RGM), opening and samples of rocks.
Total coal exploration reached Rp37.4 million. (end of release)
