Release: Antam monthly exploration report for Oct. 2009

(13 November 2009)--PT Antam Tbk is pleased to lodge October Exploration Report in accordance with the Indonesia Stock Exchange listing rules.

Antam?s exploration activities focused on nickel, gold, bauxite and coal. Total exploration cost on above commodities in October 2009 amounted to Rp9.9 billion (preliminary figures).

NICKEL
Antam conducted nickel exploration at North Maluku and Southeast Sulawesi.

Antam conducted exploration activities at Buli-North Maluku including drilling, logging core, core sampling, grid and topography measurement, SG and MC measurement and drill checking.

Exploration activities in Southeast Sulawesi included drilling, logging core, core sampling, mapping and grid measurement at Mandiodo, Lasolo and South Lalindu.

Total nickel exploration cost reached Rp2.1 billion.

GOLD
Antam conducted gold exploration at Batangasai-Jambi, Pongkor and Papandayan-West Java, Cibaliung-Banten, Ajibarang-Central Java, Wowoni-Southeast Sulawesi, Mao Batuisi-West Sulawesi and Oksibil-Papua.

Exploration activities at Batangasai-Jambi included Detailed Geological Mapping (DGM), hand auger, opening, collected samples of soil, rocks, petro/mineragraphy, XRD and FI, conducted outcrop measurement and IP geophysics.

Exploration activities at Java Island were conducted at several areas. At Pongkor-West Java, Antam performed DGM, logging core, hand auger, collected samples of soil and core, drilling, drilling track measurement and geophysics. At Papandayan-West Java, Antam conducted DGM, opening, hand auger and collected samples of rocks and soil and conducted track measurement.

At Cibaliung-Banten, Antam conducted DGM, opening, collected samples of rocks, Fi, XRD and pet/ min, drilled logging, drilling, geophysics track measurement, outcrop measurement and IP geophysics. Antam also conducted DGM, opening, track measurement, collected samples of rock, soil and pet/ min, magnetic geophysics and IP geophysics at Ajibarang-Central Java.

At Wowoni - Southeast Sulawesi, Antam conducted DGM, opening and rock samples while at Mao Batuisi -West Sulawesi, Antam conducted DGM, opening, collected samples of rock, logging, drilling, track measurement, polygon measurement and river measurement.

Antam conducted initial exploration at Oksibil, Bintang Mountains - Papua including Semi Detailed Geological Mapping (SDGM), Regional Geological Mapping (RGM), stream sediment and rock sampling.

Total gold exploration cost reached Rp6 billion.

BAUXITE
Antam conducted bauxite exploration at Mempawah, Landak, Tayan and Munggu Pasir of West Kalimantan.

Exploration activities at Mempawah and Landak included 50 m grid, topography measurement, 50 m and 400 m test pitting and sampling.

Antam conducted grid measurement, polygon measurement, test pitting and sampling at Tayan while at Munggu Pasir, Antam conducted grid measurement, topography measurement, 50 m and 25 m test pitting and sampling.

Total bauxite exploration cost reached Rp1.5 billion.

COAL
Antam conducted RGM, SDGM, track measurement, core sampling, georadar and geophysics resistivity at Mura Tebo of Jambi at a cost of Rp275.5 million. (end of release)
