Release: Antam monthly exploration report for October 2006

PT Antam Tbk is pleased to lodge October Exploration Report in accordance with the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) listing rules.

Exploration activities focused primarily on nickel, gold and bauxite.

Total exploration cost on October reached Rp8.5 billion, 7 percent lower than Rp9.2 billion spent on September 2006.

NICKEL EXPLORATION

Antam conducted nickel exploration at Bali, and Obi Island of Halmahera, Scram Island of Maluku, Central Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi

Antam conducted nickel exploration at Buli, Halmahera, including 50 in of spacing drilling at Sungaji block with 34 drilling pits reached 647.4 m depth, 25 in of spacing drilling with 8l drilling pits reached 1,979.3 m, 100 ha of topography measurement, 27 ha of grid, 5,186.7 m of logging activities and 4,563 in of samples at Mornopo, nickel exploration including 25 m of spacing drilling with 162 drilling pits reached 2,742 m. Antam also conducted in Gee activities at Mornopo. Activities at Gee Island mainly focused on lab analysis while activities at Pakal Island continued especially geological drilling to prepare road layout. Total cost reached Rp2.8 billion

Antam conducted nickel exploration at Obi Island specifically Kawasi block including 50 m spacing drilling activities reached 3,217 in, 3,500 core samples, 3,317.55 m core drilling description, sample preparations, analysis of 1,213 samples, grid measurement and drilling hole of 65.24 km. Antam also conducted geotechnical activities to support infrastructure design, including lab analysis. Total Cost reached Rp2.5 billion.

Sample analysis was conducted at Seram Island at cost of Rp1.2 million.

Antam conducted nickel exploration at Tangofa of Central Sulawesi including 364 ha of Semi Detailed Geological Mapping, 500 m of spacing drilling, 40 core samples, 7 km of track measurement and drilling pits and 40 samples at total cost of Rp45.6 million.

Antam also conducted nickel exploration at Southeast Sulawesi, specifically Pomalaa and Tapunopaka including 1,219.5 m drilling using 100 m of spacing drilling, 1,408 core samples, 1,316 sample preparations, 17.75 km of grid measurement and lab analysis Total cost reached Rp980.6 million. Exploration activities to identify nickel resources were conducted at Kolaka Utara and Konawe at cost of Rp40.1 million.

Total cost for nickel exploration reached Rp6.4 billion.

GOLD EXPLORATION

Antam conducted gold exploration at Pongkor and Garut of West Java, Seblat of Bengkulu, Patah Tiga Mountain of Jambi, Buru Island of Maluku, Southeast Sulawesi and Mamuju of West Sulawesi.

Exploration activities at Pongkor included core drilling, core description and core samples at Kubang Cicau, Ciurug and Ciguha vein below L.500. Drilling activities reached 789.4 m depth followed by 18 core samples. Total cost reached Rp426.7 million.

Exploration activities at Papandayan of Garut included 25 ha of geological mapping, drilling activities, 392.3 m of core logging, 99 samples of core description and 9 samples of fluid inclusion at Bantarhuni vein. Total cost reached Rp407.6 million.

Exploration activities at Seblat of Bengkulu conducted particularly at Lebong Kandis, Guning Husein and Air Kuro veins including Semi Detailed Geological Mapping of 3l0.8 ha, opening of 96 m, 95 rock samples, 46 core samples and fluid inclusion, 309.6 m of drilling, 309.6 m of core logging, 4.2 km of track measurement, 26 ha topography and 5,734 spots of magnet measurement. Total cost reached Rp348.2 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Muaramanderas of Jambi, including Semi Detailed Geological Mapping of 215 ha, Detailed Geological Mapping of 107.5 ha, 53 rock samples and opening of 95 m3. Total cost reached Rp107.1 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Mao Mamuju of West Sulawesi including Semi Detailed Geological mapping of 600 ha, Detailed Geological Mapping of 107 ha, rock samples. XRD, FI, petrography, 170 samples of mineragraphy and opening of 300 m3. Total cost reached Rp49.8 million.

Antam conducted gold exploration at Southeast Sulawesi specifically at Wowoni and. Konawe including Regional Geological Mapping of 45,000 ha, Semi Detailed Geological Mapping of 700 ha, opening of 191 geochemical samples and 166 rock samples and petrography. Total cost reached Rp217.4 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Buru Island Including Regional Geological Mapping of 30,000 ha, 108 stream sediment samples and 77 rock samples and fluid inclusion. Total cost reached Rp65.5 million.

Antam continued lab analysis at Tauro-Toliwang. Total cost reached Rp5.7 million. Total cost for gold exploration reached Rp1.6 billion.

BAUXITE EXPLORATION

Antam conducted bauxite exploration at Tayan, Munggu Pasir and Mempawah of Kalimantan and Seram Island.

Exploration activities using 25 m spacing were conducted at Tayan including grid measurement of 1.57 km, 1 ha of topography, pitting volume of 76 pits (641.8 m) followed by collecting 250 channel samples and 266 sample preparations Total cost reached Rp184.5 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Munggu Pasir including 14.95 km of grid measurements, 2.7 ha of topography measurements, 50 m spacing test-pitting grid reached 191 pits (748.5 m), 268 samples and 211 sample preparations. Total cost reached Rp211.6 million.

Antam conducted exploration at Mempawah including Regional Geological Mapping of 13,000 ha, 39 (112.16 m) test pitting spots and 48 samples At Seram island, Antam conducted Regional Geological Mapping of 5,162 ha and lab analysis. Total cost reached Rp76.6 million.

Total cost for bauxite exploration reached Rp472.7 million. (end)
