FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2005
Jakarta, March 10, 2005 ? PT Antam Tbk is pleased to lodge the February 2005 monthly exploration report in accordance with the Jakarta Stock Exchange listing rules. After postponed during January 2005, Antam continued its exploration activities in February 2005 which was focused on laterite nickel and gold.
The total cost in February 2005 for exploration was Rp4.2 billion. Exploration activities were conducted by Antam?s own exploration unit, Unit Geomin.
NICKEL
Nickel exploration was conducted in Buli-Halmahera, Southeast Sulawesi and Obi Island. Nickel exploration in Buli-Halmahera included 2,999m of infill drilling at Blocks A, Pakal and Sangaji with a total cost of Rp2.0 billion.
The locations for nickel exploration drilling in Southeast Sulawesi were Tapunopaka, Mandiodo and Bahubulu. In February, drilling of 8,891m occured with a total cost of Rp2.2 billion. These activities are intended to support the ferronickel smelter plants at nearby Pomalaa.
GOLD
Exploration activities was conducted at Lebong Kandis, Mranggu-East Java and Pongkor-West Java with a total cost of Rp48.2 million.
Antam also continued joint exploration activities using geophysics tests with JOGMEC Japan in Cikotok- Banten. (end release)
