ABS is one of the world's leading classification societies with leading authorities and research in human factors engineering. It was the first society to develop the industry's first comprehensive Guide for Crew Habitability on Offshore Installations.
As offshore exploration and development moves into deeper waters increasingly farther from shore and infrastructure, the need for quality crew accommodations and habitability aboard new facilities is important. Thomas Tan, ABS Singapore Country Manager says,”Jack up Soehanah is one of a number of super premium jack ups worldwide built to PPL Shipyard's proprietary design, the Baker Marine Pacific 375 Class. ABS has classed many of these jack ups. However, Soehanah is the first mobile offshore drilling unit to receive ABS' habitability notation, HAB+”.
“This award proves that safety and comfortable working environment have always been important concerns to Apexindo. Thus, we decided to incorporate and utilize ABS HAB+ classification for a higher level of comfort in accommodation in terms of noise, vibration and climate setting. As the level of comfort as well as hygiene increase, productivity and performance are also expected to increase.” Hertriono Kartowisastro explains.
PT Apexindo Pratama Duta Tbk, is the national oil, gas and geothermal contractor with the largest fleet. Apexindo provides drilling service for both onshore and offshore through its 8 land rig and 6 offshore rigs which consist of four submersible swamp barge rig: Maera, Raisis, Raissa and Yani; and two jack-up Raniworo and Soehanah.
