Release: Apexindo?s rig 9 spuds-in on another new well

(14 May 2009 )--At the beginning of May 2009. Apexindo?s Rig 9 spudded in its new well. Nilam 266, located in East Kalimantan. The rig is planned to drill the well to 13,000 feet deep within 22 days.

Rig 9 is currently working for VICO Indonesia until May 2010 with a contract value of approximately USD 34.8 million. As of 8 April 2009, the rig has reached an extraordinary record with 6 (six) years without Loss Time Accident (LTA).

Rig 9 first commenced operations for VICO Indonesia in 1991. Since than, it has worked continuously and has drilled over 120 wells including vertical, directional, and horizontal designs. The rig has also drilled some of the deepest and most challenging onshore wells in Kalimantan.
