Release: AWE?s Lengo-1 drilling update

(28 March 2008)--Australian Worldwide Exploration Limited (AWE) reports that the Lengo-1 well has reached a depth of 865 metres, and open hole wireline logs have been obtained. Wireline logs and downhole sampling indicate the presence of gas over a gross interval of 42 metres. The well was flow tested up to 12.8 million cubic feet of gas per day, confirming the results of the logs and sampling. The forward plan is to drill ahead to the planned Total Depth of approximately 995 metres.
Lengo-1 is being drilled in the Bulu Production Sharing Contract (PSC) in the offshore Java Sea, approximately 150 km kilometres north west of Surabaya, East Java, in 60 metres water depth.
Participants in the Bulu Production Sharing Contract are: AWE 42.5%, Aabar Petroleum Investments Company PJSC (Operator) 42.5%, PT Satria Energindo 10.0% and PT Satria Wijaya Kusuma 5.0%. (end of release)
