LONDON - 1 December 2005 - BDI Mining Corp. ("the Company") reports that it has shipped to Antwerp 4,534.30 carats of gem diamonds from its Cempaka Mine in Indonesia, for sale by tender.

Included in this shipment are three diamonds above 10 carats - a 15.96 carat stone, a 14.36 carat stone, and a 13.38 carat stone. In total, the parcel consists of 13,256 stones, all larger than DTC screen size 7 (approx. 2mm). The tender is due to take place in the week beginning 12th December 2005.

The Company would also like to report the recent recovery of a 53 carat carbonado diamond from its Cempaka operations. Carbonado diamonds are naturally occurring polycrystalline multigranular diamond aggregates, which are normally black in colour and highly porous.

Although carbonado diamonds are generally of nominal value, Mr. Lee K. Spencer, Managing Director and CEO of BDI Mining Corp, commented "the recovery of the stone is extremely encouraging in that it tells us three things. Firstly, it further illustrates the potential for large gem quality stones to be recovered from the Cempaka deposit, it highlights the potential for the source of the alluvial stones to be in close proximity, and confirms the security and efficiency features of the diamond recovery circuit". (end of release)
