Release: Bumi announces operations unaffected by earthquakes off Padang and Bengkulu

(Jakarta, September 13, 2007) – PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (Bumi Resources), Indonesia’s largest thermal coal mining company, wishes to confirm that both its mining operations in PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) and PT Arutmin Indonesia (Arutmin) in Kalimantan are completely unaffected by the unfortunate earthquakes off Padang and Bengkulu (off the coast of far away Sumatra island) last evening. Mining activity on both of Bumi's coal tenements is normal. (end of release)

Bumi Resources expects to produce approximately 59 MT of coal in 2007, and expects to ship approximately 58 MT of coal in 2007, compared with approximately 50 MT in 2006 – a projected increase of 16%. They have already sold approximately 28.3 MT between January and June in 2007.
