Release: Bumi notes release of bidder?s statement relating to Tango?s conditional offer

(Jakarta and Sydney, 11 March 2008)--PT Bumi Resources Tbk (?Bumi?) notes the release of a bidder?s statement by Tango Mining Pie. LW (?Tango?) in connection with a bid for Herald Resources Limited (?Herald?) (?Tango Bidder?s Statement?).

Bumi, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Calipso Investment Pte. Ltd, has offered $2.25 cash for each Herald share it does not already own, Bumi?s all cash offer is scheduled to close on 4 April 2008 unless further extended.

Bumi notes that the Tango offer is subject to a number of conditions relating to the ability of its shareholders, PT Antam Tbk (?Antam?) arid Shenzhen Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co. Ltd (?Zhongjin?), to enter into and fund the transaction and that there is no certainty as to when these conditions wilt be satisfied.

Shareholders who accept the Tango offer will not be entitled to receive cash for their Herald shares until the earlier of one month after the conditions to the offer are satisfied and the date which is 21 days after the end of the offer period, and will not be able to withdraw their acceptances other than in certain limited circumstances.

Bumi further notes that the Herald directors have advised Herald shareholders to ?withhold their acceptance until near the end of the Tango offer period?. Tango has not yet disclosed when its offer will open or close.

Bumi is considering its options in relation to the transaction and expects to be in a position to provide a further update to the market in the near future.
