Imam Agustino, ENRG ?s CEO said ?that CBM will be a major source of energy sector growth in the next ten years for Indonesia and ENRG has worked hard over the last year to position itself in this space.
Agustino went on to say that ?that now is time to elaborate more on our views in a capital market forum and hence we believe that we hosted the first capital market focused CBM forum in Indonesia.?
The forum was attended by capital market players including investment bankers, brokers and fund managers. The Director General of Energy and Mineral Resources, Evita Legowo, was also in attendance and gave a key note address entitled ?CBM policies and regulation and the delivery of viable Indonesian CBM projects? it was clear from the keynote address that the Indonesian Government is working hard to provide a robust investment climate for CBM investment in Indonesia.
Legowo?s presentation was followed up by Tony Regan, from Tri-Zen Energy Consultants who concluded that CBM was a great fit for Asia and Indonesia with increasing gas demand coupled with insufficient natural gas supply. He said that ?whilst the market opportunity is there, the business model is evolving with Industry and Government?s still fine tuning?.
Regan?s presentation was followed up by Tom Soulsby?s (Advisor to ENRG?s CEO) presentation. He highlighted that ?CBM has been the most rewarding growth theme for oil and gas companies over the last 5 years and he highlighted that this growth is driven by a lack of reserve growth opportunities in stable investment regimes?. He also said that ?Indonesia has top 3 global potential for CBM? and that the ?CBM to LNG story in East Kalimantan is outstanding and that ENRG is well placed to exploit opportunities in this area?
Finally, the forum was closed by Amir Balfas, ENRG?S Chief Operating Officer running through ENRG?s CBM plans. He concluded that ENRG is well placed to exploit opportunities though its recently awarded and operated Sangatta 11 and Tabulako CBM PSC?s. Balfas highlighted potential CBM recoverable resources in concessions well placed to supply Coal Miners, power utilities and the huge Bontang Liquified Natural Gas (?LNG?) plant. (end of release)
