Release: Cooper Energy: Gurame-1X upper section logging results
Monday, April 14 2008 - 12:53 AM WIB
(14 April 2008)--A variety of wireline logging tools have been run in the 12?? hole over the Seurula and Keutapang sandstone formations from the 13 3/8? casing shoe at 956 metres to the total depth of the section at 2,319 metres.
Interpretation of the data obtained from the wireline electric logs, pressure measurements and fluid sampling shows that the Seurula and Keutapang sandstone formations appear to be water wet and tight.
The forward plan for the Gurame-1X well is to drill ahead to evaluate the Baong sandstone primary target by completing the following steps:
? Run and cement the 9 5/8? casing.
? Drill 8 1/2? hole through the Baong sandstone to total depth (3,010 metres).
? Log the 8 1/2? hole section.
? Run and cement the 7? casing to total depth.
? Production test key Baong gas reservoirs (subject to positive logging results).
? Suspend the well as a potential future Baong production well (subject to positive production testing and logging results).
A further update is expected to be provided to investors when the Baong sandstone formations have been penetrated in the next 1-2 weeks. (end of release)
