Release: Cooper Energy: Kurnia-1 drilling update

(8 October 2007)--We are pleased to announce that since the last release (COE210907a), the 12 ¼” pilot hole has been opened to 17” over the interval from 1,237 to 2,469 metres. The current operation is conditioning the hole in preparation for running the 13 ⅜” casing.

 

The expected general future operations are:

• run and cement 13 ⅜” casing

• install and pressure test the blow out preventers

• drill a 12 ¼” hole to 3,000 metres

• run wireline logs over the 2,469 to 3,000 metres hole section

• run and cement the 9 ⅝” casing string

• install and pressure test the blow out preventers

• drill an 8 ½“ hole into the primary objective Kujung reservoir section

 

The next ASX release will be made after the well the well has commenced drilling ahead in the 12 ¼” hole. (end of release)
