Release: EMP brings Kangean gas supplies back to stream

(Jakarta January 11, 2007) - Indonesian listed oil and gas company, PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk. (?ENRG?) today said its wholly owned subsidiary, EMP Kangean Ltd. resumed gas production at its Pagerungan operation on January 9, 2007. Kangean gas supplies were shut down on January 06, 2007 following a demonstration by focal Pagerungan Besar island residents. The pre shutdown production volume is expected to resume within days.

Negotiation among EMP Kangean Ltd, BPMIGAS, local government, and community activists are progressing. The talks are peaceful, focused on finding good long-term solutions, and based on a common understanding of how essential gas supplies are to the East Java industry. (end of release)
