Release: EMP reports positive result from Kangean's Sepanjang oil field

(April 9, 2008)--Indonesian publicly listed oil and gas company PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP) reported on Wednesday that its subsidiary, Kangean Energy Indonesia Ltd., showed positive test result from its newly drilled well, SED-3 in Sepanjang field, offshore East Java.

The SED-3 well reached the targeted depth of 7,580 feet, and on March 23, 2008, the test result showed that the well is flowing oil at the rate of 3,000 barrels of oil per day. This positive test result would be a good complement to the SED-IA?s performance which had proven to flow oil up to 3,500 barrels of oil per day. (end of release)
