Release: Exxon Mobil Corporation president visits Indonesia, comment on Cepu

Jakarta, December 13 ? ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc. (ExxonMobil) today announced that Rex W. Tillerson, President of Exxon Mobil Corporation, visited Indonesia to attend the International Investment Conference, BIEM Conference, where Tillerson made a keynote speech. During this visit, Tillerson made courtesy calls to key Indonesian government officials.

"I am delighted to speak before the oil and gas community in Indonesia to discuss the global energy outlook and Indonesia's future in the global market place," Tillerson said. "ExxonMobil continues to view Indonesia as a country with substantial future growth opportunities in the oil and gas business and will maintain its significant long-term presence in the country," Tillerson said.

Through its global affiliates, Exxon Mobil Corporation has operated for more than 120 years and today the company conducts business in some 200 countries and territories on six continents. This includes business from exploration and production of oil and gas, to manufacturing and marketing of fuels, lubes and chemicals, electric power generation and coal and minerals mining operations.

In Indonesia, ExxonMobil and its affiliates has invested for more than 100 years in both upstream and downstream businesses. Since 1968, the company has invested more than $16 billion in the country and it currently employs about 800 employees wherein more than 95 percent of them are Indonesian. During its presence in Indonesia, as a good corporate citizen, ExxonMobil has been active in developing and assisting communities around its area of operations.

Comment on Cepu:

"ExxonMobil is encouraged by recent news reports that PT Pertamina will recommence negotiations with ExxonMobil on Cepu. We look forward to bringing this important resource to market and continuing our long history of investment in Indonesia".
