Release: ExxonMobil E&P Surumana Limited Signs a PSC with the Government of Indonesia

(Sept 22, 2006) - ExxonMobil Corporation, through its affiliate, ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Surumana Limited, is pleased to announce that it has signed a Production Sharing Contract with the Government of Indonesia for the Surumana Block located offshore Sulawesi. This contract will enable exploration activities on the block to begin.
Once the PSC is signed, ExxonMobil affiliate ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Surumana Limited will commence exploration activities in the block as soon as possible planned exploration activities through 2009 include acquisition of 2D seismic data and drilling of three exploratory well. If a commercial discovery is made ExxonMobil would commence development activities under the PSC promptly upon receipt of necessary Government approvals.
The Surumana Block, which comprises 5,340 square kilometers (1.3 million acres), is located in the North Makassar Basin offshore Sulawesi in water depths ranging from a few meters to more than 2,000 meters (6,562 feet). (end of release)
