Release: Newmont paid the Q2, 2008 royalty of more than Rp.16 billion

(06 August 2008)--Sumbawa Barat - PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (PTNNT) fulfilled its financial obligations to the Government of Indonesia by making its Q2, 2008 (April to June) royalty payment to the Ministry of Finance recently (31/7).

The royalty payment of US$ 1,807,505.57 (one million eight hundred seven thousand five hundred five and fifty seven cents) or equivalent more than Rp.16 billion at rate of Rp.9,000 was deposited in the Finance Minister?s account no. 508.000.071 in Bank Indonesia, Jakarta.

This payment breaks down include:

1. Copper-CU US$ 1,098,819.62
2. Gold-Au US$681,448.80
3. Silver-Ag US$47,138.15

Total $ US$ 1,807,505.57

The royalty payment is made in accordance with Article 13 of the Contract of Work between PTNNT and the Government of Indonesia and instruction letter No.310/20.01/DJP/2000 of 24 February 2000 from the Directorate General of Mines.

PTNNT began paying royalties since its first concentrate shipment in 1999 to this present for US$ 152,115,939 (one hundred fifty two million one hundred-fifteen thousand and nine hundred thirty nine). (end of release)
