Tuesday, November 18 2003 - 12:57 PM WIB

The following is a news release from Energy Market Authority of Singapore:

18-Nov-2003 -- Natural gas supply from West Natuna was disrupted on 14 November 2003 due to a leak in the pipeline linking West Natuna to Singapore. Generation companies using the natural gas supply to generate electricity were able to switch quickly to alternative fuel to generate electricity. There was therefore no disruption of electricity supply to consumers.

The leak in the pipeline has been isolated. Partial gas supply of up to 65% of the Gas Sales Agreement is being restored. The partial restoration is expected to be completed on 19 November 2003 morning. Generation companies using natural gas from West Natuna will continue to use alternative fuel for electricity generation to make up for the shortfall of natural gas.

Electricity supply to consumers will not be disrupted. (End of release)
