In particular he has extensive experience and understanding of the opportunities and challenges for the minerals industry in Indonesia, as founding partner/director of the successful Jakarta-based mineral consultancy MRA Consultants Ltd from 1987-2006.
Levings?s client list in that role comprised both major and junior mining companies from Australia, USA, UK, Canada and Indonesia. The major clients were Phelps Dodge, Normandy Mining, and Anglo American Corporation.
During his 30-year career in mining he has served in discovery, development, operational and other technical roles in the gold mining industry in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea (Porgera and Lihir Gold), Western Australia (Aurion Gold) and the Northern Territory (Black Angel, Rising Sun, Rising Star, New Hope and White Devil gold mines).
He also has extensive experience in base metals and nickel mining including three years as Project Study Manager for BHP Billiton?s stainless steel materials group in a US$16 million concept study of a greenfields nickel laterite project in Mindanao, Philippines.
As geological consultant to Robust through his Queensland-based company Island Arc Consulting Levings has already played a key role in the discovery of the known significant gold, silver lead and zinc mineralisation on Romang Island.
His fellow directors welcome his acceptance of the position of Technical Director and believe that his expertise and experience will contribute significantly to the continuing success of Robust?s escalating exploration program. (end of release)
