Release: Updates on Kideco mine incident

(Jakarta, 06 July 2010)--PT Kideco Jaya Agung (Kideco), a 46% owned subsidiary of PT Indika Energy Tbk (Indika Energy) has received notification from the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral to resume its overburden removal operation at its mine site at East Kalimantan effective July 5, 2010. Overburden removal activities were temporarily ended last week when there was a casualty at the accident involving the employee of Kideco?s mining contractor.
Our company deeply regrets this incident and extends our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, an employee of mining contractor.
Kideco is reviewing and will be implementing stricter safety procedures to ensure all its employees and contractors abide by the safety protocols.
The safety of our people, and all who work on our sites, is of foremost importance to us and not something that we will compromise. (end of release)
