Spokesman Gde Pradnyana said two wells resumed operation last Saturday. The remaining wells have been reopened since then. ?There is one well left which should restart production this week,? said Gde.
Gde said the Tiaka field on September 4 produced as much as 2,000 barrels of oil, which is the normal production level of the field.
Gde said according to BPMIGAS' estimate the losses due to the temporary halt of the field?s operation for 13 days reach Rp 4 billion. Meanwhile, Pertamina estimated the field suffered potential loss of 26,000 barrels of oil due to the operational halt.
The field operator shut down the field following a riot that took two lives of the locals.(giok)
