Rembang power plant to get first coal this month

The coal-fired Rembang power plant in Central Java will receive first coal later this month as it is preparing to start operation.

?The power plant will come onstream in September this year,? Nasri Sebayang, the head of Primary Energy Unit at state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, said on Tuesday.

The 2x315 MW power plant is among the power projects built under the Phase One 10,000 MW fast-track program.

The project is financed by China Development Bank and Barclay Bank. (Bernard)
