Gas-to-liquid (GTL) converter Rentech Inc. said in a statement Tuesday that the company is proceeding with its joint feasibility study for a 15,000 barrel per day GTL plant in Indonesia with state oil and gas company Pertamina.
Rentech and Pertamina had been conducting the study since December 2000.
The project would incorporate Rentech's proprietary GTL technology to convert stranded gas, owned by Pertamina, into sulfur- and aromatic-free fuels, naphtha, waxes and other high value products.
The joint study will evaluate the cost, feasibility, and potential markets for products that could be generated from a small scale GTL plant located in Indonesia, producing 15,000 barrels per day of these clean and valuable hydrocarbons. (alex)
