Renuka plans to start new coal mines production in mid 2012

Publicly listed coal miner PT Renuka Coalindo plans to start coal production from its greenfield coal mines in Sarolangun regency, Jambi province in mid 2012, the company?s official has said.

?We have another two coal mines in Sarolangun regency, which now are still in exploration stage,? the official told Petromindo.Com. Both mines are located near to the company?s current production mine, the official added.

Earlier, Ganesh Mane, President Drector of Renuka said that the company plans to produce between 1.1 million and 1.2 million tonnes of coal this year, a three-fold increase compared to 400,000 tonnes last year

About 800,000 tonnes of the projected coal production will come from its coal mines in Sarolangun regency, which are operated by PT Renuka Jambi/ PT Jambi Prima Coal and the remaining will be sourced elsewhere by its newly-formed trading unit.

The company has two types of coal products, one with carolific value of 5,300-5,100 kcal/kg (ADB) and another of 5,500-5,300 kcal/kg (ADB), with high moisture 36-45%, he added. (denny)
