Repair work at Cinta Natomas, Aberkha FSO vessels completed

Repair work at Cinta Natomas and Aberkha floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessels in East Java has been completed, allowing the facilities to resume receiving crude from designated oil fields.
Joint Operating Body Pertamina Petrochina East Java (JOB P-PEJ) said it has managed to reattach the Cinta Natomas FSO with the single buoy mooring. ?Starting Wednesday evening, Cinta Natomas FSO has been able to receive crude delivery from Mudi (field) CPA (central processing area),? General Manager of JOB P-PEJ) Eddy Frits Dominggus said in a statement received Monday, adding that this should allow JOB P-PEJ to resume normal production.
?The Cinta Natomas FSO has been a temporary storage for a total of 50,000 bopd of oil production from a number of fields, namely JOB P-PEJ (Sukowati and Mudi), PEPC (Banyu Urip), Pertamina EP Asset-4 (Tiung Biru and Cepu),? he added.
The mooring hawser of the Cinta Natomas FSO was cut off on January 21 after it was hit by high waves and strong win in the Java Sea amid bad weather condition, which also cut off the crude hose. Nevertheless, JOB PPEJ managed to avoid a total shut down of its oil fields, as it only lowered the production capacity of a number of fields in line with the remaining capacity of the Mudi CPA.
Eddy Frits added that with the completion of the repair work at Cinta Natomas FSO, the Sukowati, Tiung Biru, Cepu and Banyu Urip fields could also deliver crude to the FSO via the Mudi CPA.
Separately, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Wahidin Nurluzia told Petromindo on Monday that the repair work at the Aberkha FSO was completed on January 26, allowing it to resume receiving crude from PHE West Madura Offshore block.
