Spanish oil and gas firm Repsol plans to start drilling campaign at Cendrawasih Bay II block offshore Papua in 2015 or 2016.

The company said in a presentation released recently that a prospect has been identified in the block.

Repsol is the operator of Cendrawasih II block with 50 percent working interest.

The company also has non-operating interest in the adjacent blocks namely: Cendrawasih PSC (30%) where an exploration well called Elang-1 was drilled last year but failed to discover commercial hydrocarbon, Cendrawasih Bay III PSC (50%) and Cendrawasih IV PSC (50%).
