Villagers living near the mining area of Kaltim Prima Coal in Sanggata, East Kalimantan have threatened to block the access roads to the company's mining sites if the company fails to respond to their compensation demand, Kaltim Post reported on Friday.
"We will block the access roads to KPC's mining site, if the company fails to settle the problem within a week," said Adnuddin, one of the villagers.
About 65 residents of the Tani Pinang Raya village near KPC's mining area demanded the compensation of their land which had been taken by the company as part of its mining area.
The villagers said that their compensation had been reported to the local administration and legislators but no solution had been made. (*)
