IDX-listed coal firm PT Resource Alam Indonesia Tbk said it plans to boost coal production next year by around 75 percent to 3.5 million tons from the estimated 2 million tons for this year if the current rising trend in the price of the commodity continues.

This was revealed by the company in a filing with the Indonesia Stock Exchange last week.

Resource Alam said that the planned production target next year would be reached as it has completed construction of required infrastructure facilities, additional output from a number of blocks, and a return to higher stripping ratio in line with coal market development.

Resource Alam operates three mines in Simpang Pasir, Gunung Pinang, and Bayur in East Kalimantan from a total concession area of 24,477 hectares, according to company website.
