IDX-listed PT Resource Alam Indonesia Tbk produced 2.1 million tons of coal during the first half of this year or at the same production level recorded in the same period last year.

The company?s head of investor relations Eric Tirtana said in Jakarta last week that Resource Alam booked total sales of about Rp 1 trillion in the first semester, this year, rising by between 5 and 10 percent from the same period, last year.

The company?s average selling price (ASP) reached US$57 per ton in the first half, this year, down from the ASP level in the same period, last year. ? ASP for the whole year will likely be lower than in the first half. But we cannot predict the percentage of the fall, because the trend of the coal price in next three months is still unclear,? he said.

Resource Alam exported about 80 percent of its production to China. ?The rest were shipped to India, Taiwan, Korea, and some to local market,? he added.

For this year, the company hopes total production would reach 4.2 million tons, most of which mined from the company?s concessions in Samarinda and Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.
