Resource Alam proposes mine mouth power plant project

IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Resource Alam Indonesia Tbk said that it has submitted a proposal to state-owned electricity firm PT PLN to develop a mine mouth power plant in East Kalimantan.
?Regarding the mine mouth power plant project in East Kalimantan, yesterday we submitted a proposal to PLN. Our project has been short-listed by PLN,? said President Director of Resource Alam, Pintarso Adijanto, to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.
Pintarso said that the planned mine mouth power plant will have a capacity of 2x100 MW. He added, that the company, which operates mines in Kutai Kartanegara and Samarinda, has yet to complete the various requirements for the project, which will be located at a 24,477-ha coal concession, operated by subsidiary PT Insani Baraperkasa, in Kutai Kartanegara where PLN transmission network already exist.
He said that investment cost for the project is estimated at about US$1.2 million per MW.
