Resource Alam revises downward coal output target

IDX-listed coal mining company PT Resource Alam Indonesia Tbk said that it has revised downward its coal output target for this year to between 3.6 million-4 million tons from the initial target of about 4.5 million tons.

?We?re being more realistic. The (coal output) target is between 3.6 million and 4 million tons,? said Corporate Secretary of the Central Kalimantan coal mining company, Agoes Soegiarto to Petromindo.com on Wednesday.

He said that the output revision comes following mine plan change in th wake of a switch to a new mining contractor, which is said to be part of IDX-listed heavy equipment PT United Tractors Tbk.

He said that the change in mine plan has also caused coal production in the first quarter of this year to be lower than output in the same period of last year. He declined to provide the figure.
