Resource Alam sales soar by 91%

Indonesia-listed coal mining firm PT. Resource Alam Indonesia Tbk announced that the company posted a 91 percent increase of coal sales to 4.2 million tons in 2011 compared to 2.2 million tons sold in previous year.

It said that the company reaped US$243 million from the total sales last year, increased 131 percent from 105 million in 2010.

The company said that the average selling price of coal reached US$58 per ton in 2011, higher than $48 per ton in previous year.

?The volume of coal sales in 2011 exceeded the previous target set by management of only 3.5 million tons,? the company?s Head of Investor Relations Eric Tirtana said as quoted by Investor daily.

Resource Alam Indonesia targets to book the total coal sales up to six million tons this year.

?To meet the target, the company has signed sales contract of three million tons for the period of 2012,? Eric said.
