IDX-listed PT Resource Alam Indonesia targets its coal unit PT Insan Bara Perkasa (IBP) to produce 5.7 million tons next year, up from this year?s target of 4.5 million tons.

The firm said in a presentation on Friday that the target is feasible given the fact that the infrastructures at the coal mine have been more complete as the development of an underpass at the South block of the mine has been finalized. Furthermore, there will be additional output from various blocks, including new production from the Perangat and Separi blocks and the increase in the output from the Loajanan block.

IBP has a concession area measuring 24,477 ha in Samarinda, East Kalimantan which is estimated to hold around 80 million tons of coal reserve.
