IDX-listed coal mining company PT Resource Alam Indonesia Tbk hopes to resume production at its Loa Haur mine in East Kalimantan in the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year.
Agoes Sugiarto, company Corporate Secretary, said recently that coal production from the mine this year is estimated at 125,000 tons. He said that output next year could reach 1.5 million tons.
He said that the Loa Haur mine would be further expanded in the future if the government?s planned coal railway project in the province is realized.
The 500-ha Loa Haur concession in Central Kalimantan has proven coal reserves estimated at around 12 million tons, with CV of 4,650-6,191 kcal/kg (GAR), according to the company. Production at the mine was suspended a couple of years ago due to weak coal price.
