Resources Alam aims to resume production at Loa Haur mine next year

IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Resources Alam Indonesia Tbk said on Tuesday it would try to resume production at its Loa Haur coal mine in Central Kalimantan next year.

This portal previously quoted company Director Wimpi Salim as saying that its subsidiary PT Loa Haur will resume coal production at the mine when coal prices continues to rise to around US$65 per ton. He said that it will also depend on the government approval of the IPPKH forestry permit requested by the company.

The 500-ha Loa Haur concession in Central Kalimantan has proven coal reserves estimated at around 12 million tons, with CV of 4,650-6,191 kcal/kg (GAR), according to the company.

Wimpi has also said that the company plans to resume production at Kaltim Mineral concession in East Kalimantan.

The company currently relies production from its subsidiary PT Insani Bara Perkasa, which operates mines in East Kalimantan, producing coal with CV of 4,500-5,000 kcal/kg.
