Coal mining firm PT Reswara Minergi Hartama said that its coal mining operation in Aceh plans to resume export in October of this year following recent increase in coal price.

This was said by Hadi Setiadi, Head of Market at Reswara Group on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 4th Annual Coal Buyers and Producers Meeting in Jakarta organized by Petromindo.com.

He said that export volume to India until end of this year is expected to reach 500,000 tons, out of the estimated coal output from its Aceh unit of 700,000 tons this year. The remaining 200,000 tons will be allocated for a local cement company.

Reswara, a subsidiary of IDX-listed integrated coal mining firm PT ABM Investama Tbk, owns two coal subsidiaries namely PT Tunas Inti Abadi (in South Kalimantan) and PT Media Djaya Bersama/MDB (in Aceh). MDB owns two mining permit holders namely PT Mifa Bersaudara and PT Bara Energi Lestari. Reswara has a combined installed production capacity of 9 million tons per year.

In January of this year, Mifa Bersaudara said that it was suspending export to India due to the coal price drop, prompting to focus on the domestic market.
