RH Petrogas drills Klagalo-1 well in Kepala Burung PSC

SGX-listed RH Petrogas Limited announced Wednesday that the drilling of the Klagalo-1 exploration well commenced on Tuesday using the Huabei Rig #6 in onshore Kepala Burung PSC (Basin PSC), West Papua.
RH Petrogas Limited has an aggregate 60 percent working interest in the Basin PSC through its wholly owned subsidiaries Petrogas (Basin) Ltd. and RHP Salawati Basin B.V.(RHPSB).
Meanwhile its partner, also as the operator, PetroChina International ( Bermuda ) Ltd., holds 30 percent participating interest of Basin PSC and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Salawati holds the balance 10percent.
The consortium, as contractor of Indonesian government operating under the supervision of the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, has actively explored and produced oil and gas in the working area. The Basin PSC covers an area of 872 km2.
Located in an area close to Sorong City , Klagalo -1 is planned to reach a total vertical measured depth of 2,085 meters. It is anticipated that drilling of the well will take approximately 38 days, the company said in a jointed statement with PetroChina.
The Klagalo prospect was identified following a 290 km2 3D seismic survey conducted in 2004. It is located approximately 9 km east of the two North Klalin oil and gas discoveries made by the Group in recent years.
