RI firm to supply coal to Philippine power plants

Philippines firm Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. (PSALM) said that Indonesian coal miner PT Baradinamika Mudasukses has been awarded the contract to supply and delivery of 88,000 MT of imported steaming coal for power plants in Cebu, in the Philippines.
PSALM announced on Friday that Baradinamika tendered an offer of PHP 438,226,493.76, which is within the PHP 468,713,194.00 approved budget for the contract.
The Cebu thermal power facility consists of the 52.5-MW Cebu 1 coal-fired power plant and 56.8-MW Cebu 2 plant. It is part of the 153.1-MW Naga power complex in Barangay Colon, Naga City. Besides the coal plants, the complex also includes the 43.8-MW Cebu diesel-fired facility which consists six 7.3-MW plants. The Naga complex is handled by SPC Power Corp. under an extended operation and maintenance service contract that will lapse in March next year.
