He was quoted by the Media Indonesia daily as saying that Indonesia was more advanced compared to its peers in LNG industry and the country had abundant LNG resource to ensure supply.
?We are the most advanced country in LNG matters. We are also the first. We can also guarantee supply. And also in terms of distance (Indonesia is closer to Guandong),? Kustia said Monday following a meeting with President Megawati Soekarnoputri, who is scheduled to visit China from March 24 until 27.
The China visit is part of Megawati?s trip to several countries in the region including South Korea, North Korea and India.
Indonesia is competing with Qatar and Australia to win the tender to supply around 3.5 million metric tons of LNG to Guangdong. Indonesia?s LNG will come from the Tangguh field in Papua province operated by BP Indonesia.
China?s authority is scheduled to visit Tangguh on March 24 to conduct a due diligence. (*)
