RI-India firms tie up

Indonesian firm PT Gemilang Technodrill Paripurna and Indian firm Shiv Vani Universal Limited signed an agreement on Thursday to establish a consortium to work on oil projects belonging to American oil and gas company PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia.

The consortium agreement was signed by Gemilang's president Husnie Sastropranoto and Shiv Vani's executive director Prem Singhee in Jakarta, according to Kompas daily.

The paper did not provide details on the project but it said the consortium have yet to bid for the project.

Under the agreemen, Shiv Vani will provide drilling rig, technology and engineers for the consortium, while Gemilang Technodrill will provide workers, logisitical supplies, transportation, communication and accomodation.

The agreement was signed as part of the agenda of India's Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vejpayee to Indonesia. (*)
