Indonesia?s coal output in the first four months ending April of this year dropped by 11.56 percent to 130 million tons compared to the same period of last year.
Director of Coal Management and Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Adhi Wibowo said on Wednesday that the lower production was due to the falling price of the commodity.
Adhi said that of the 130 million tons output, about 106 million tons were exported, and the remainder sold in the domestic market.
The ministry has set the country?s coal production target for this year at 394.37-425 million tons, of which about 92 million tons to be allocated for the domestic market.
