RI, S. Korea seek to bolster cooperation in oil, gas sector

Indonesia is seeking to bolster economic and investment cooperation in the oil and gas sector with South Korea, under which the former country will offer the latter new opportunities to develop gas infrastructure facilities and acquisition of oil and gas assets.

These opportunities will be offered by Indonesia during the 6th Indonesia-Korea Energy Forum, held in Bali Tuesday, which is scheduled to be opened by Indonesian Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Susilo Siswoutomo.

?There are many things to be offered to South Korea during the bilateral meeting such as planned gas infrastructure development,? said Director General of Oil and Gas Edy Hermantoro to Petromindo.com Tuesday.

Separately, Deputy for Commercial Affairs at upstream authority SKK Migas, Widiyawan Prawiraatmadja said that there are potential for business to business deals to emerge from the meeting such as in the area of farm-in and farm-out of oil and gas blocks in Indonesia.

?SKK Migas offers farm in-farm out of oil and gas blocks to South Korean oil and gas firms,? he said.

Meanwhile, with regards to the planned LNG sales to South Korea, there will be no crucial matters to be discussed with that country, he said.
