RI's LNG export plan to Chile to be discussed in October

Indonesia's plan to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Chile will be discussed during a bilateral economic meeting which will be held in Santiago later this year, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

Harya Adityawarman, the head of the planning department of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, confirmed the plan on Saturday, saying that the LNG export plan would be discussed during the second bilateral consultation forum to be held the Chilean capital in October, this year.

"The LNG export plan would be the follow-up of the Energy Cooperation Agreement signed by the two governments in Jakarta on November 21, last year," he said.

According to Harya, the negotiation over the LNG export to Chile would be carried out under the multilateral economic cooperation agreed among members of Asia Pacific Economi Cooperation (APEC) forum. (*)
