RI still relies on 10 oil companies to meet production target

The 10 PSCs, which this year produced 808,000 bpd or 83 percent of the total production, are expected to further increase their production next year in order to meet the country?s production target, chairman upstream oil and gas regulatory agency BPMIGAS, R. Priyono said on Thursday..
They include PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia, PT Pertamina EP, Total E&P Indonesia, ConocoPhillips Block B, CNOOC SES, PHE ONJW, Medco Rimau, Chevron Indonesia Co, Vico, JOB Pertamina-PetroChina East Java, BOB Pertamina-Bumi Siak Pusako and ExxonMobil (Cepu).
BPMIGAS said that Chevron remained the country?s largest oil producer with Pertamina EP and Total Indonesia in the second and third place.
Government will also extend Madura block contract and boost cooperaztion in using production facilities between contractors to achieve 2011 oil production target, he said.
Indonesia failed to meet this year?s target of 965,000 bpd because the delay in a number of new oil and gas projects and the unexpected closure of several wells. This year, realized oil production is only 954,000 bpd, he added. (bernard)
