RI? tin output down 4.2%

Indonesia?s tin production in January-April period of this year declined by 4.2 percent to 24,573 tons compared to 25,664 tons in the same period of last year, Kontan reported on Tuesday.
The paper quoted Chairman of the Indonesian Tin Exporters Association (AETI), Jabin Sufianto as saying that there were two factors affecting the output decline.
The first is the weakening price of the commodity, which has forced miners to reduce output. And the second is the tightening export requirements set by the government. (*)
