PT Bumi Laksamana Jaya (BLJ), a company owned by the Bengkalis regency administration in Riau province, is currently building two gas-fired power plants with capacity of 1 x 50 Megawatt (MW) and 2 x 35 MW.
Haspian Tehe, the company?s spokesman said last week that BLJ would spend up to Rp 1.6 trillion to build the two power plants.
He said that the construction of the 50-MW gas fired power plant, located in Balai Pungut, Pinggir district was commenced in early February in a ceremony attended by Bengkalis regent Herliyan Saleh.
The project is handled by BLJ?s subsidiary PT Riau Energi Tiga in cooperation with PT ZUG Industry Indonesia and PT Pengembangan Investasi Riau (PIR). ?The investment for the power plant is expected to reach Rp 420 billion,? he said.
He, however, did not explain the progress of the construction of the second power plant. (*)
