Riau Power to sell electricity to PLN

Electricity producer PT Riau Power will sell electricity and lease its 1x20 Megawatt (MW) gas-fired power plant in Pekanbaru to the state-owned electricity utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for the usage of West Sumatra-Riau power system, the Investor Daily Indonesia newspaper reported in its Saturday edition.
Riau Power is the subsidiary of Riau Investment Development (PIR), which belongs to the Riau provincial administration.
PIR’s director Rida K. Liamsi said in Pekanbaru on Friday that a contract agreement regarding the purchase of power and lease of the 1x20 MW gas-fired power plant had been signed by the Riau Power director and PLN. Riau Governor HM Rusli Zainal witnessed the signing ceremony.
PLN will arrange the supply of gas to the power plant through PT Kalila, and PT Riau Petroleum, a povincial company, will operate the pipeline from Kulim fild to Lembu Teluk area.(*)
