Riau seeks investors to develop high CV coal

The Riau provincial administration is seeking for investors to tap into coal potential in Pelalawan regency, according to a report.
Head of the Riau Investment Coordinating Board, Irhas Irfan was quoted by bisnis.com as saying that coal reserves in Pelalawan regency is estimated at 83.88 million tons, scattered in Langgam and Ukui districts.
He added that the coal has high calorific value of between 4,000-6,565 kcal/kg.
Irhas said that the provincial administration was seeking for ?green investors? to develop the Pelalawan coal potential so as not to cause damage to the environment. (*)
